This project presents the results of research undertaken on the field names of Glenasmole Valley. 256 field names have been retrieved from the collective memories of the Glenasmole community as a result of research undertaken over a number of years by the local historian and Glenasmole resident, Pat Lee. This huge volume of information, which existed as a draft list of handwritten field names and a Valuation Office map of Glenasmole with numbered fields, formed the basis of this project. David Power of South Dublin Libraries performed the digitisation of the information supplied by Pat Lee and the residents of Glenasmole Valley. The result was the Field Names of Glenasmole project. The project was instigated and funded by South Dublin County Council's Heritage Office as part of the South Dublin County Heritage Plan 2010-2016.
